Whistler’s natural scenery provides a spectacular backdrop to an outdoor wedding. Compared to Vancouver, it’s much easier to get permission to hold an event in parkland. You pay a fee at Municipal Hall and set up at a spot designated for private functions. However, be forewarned that regulations require that loud noise end by 10 p.m.

One outdoors venue is the Nicklaus North golf club, a five-minute drive north of the village. Fir trees and mountains surround the club. The more adventuresome can take a helicopter flight up to a glacier for their wedding. The wedding party and guests should consider appropriate footwear, of course.
